I don’t know them personally, but I think it’s safe to say that Elena and Juanfran are a fun couple. Just look at the video invite they made themselves, and how they let guests know that they would have a beach wedding with casual attire, Ibiza-style.
Originally from Madrid, but living in Barcelona and enamored with the sea, the couple wanted to have a heartfelt and relaxed celebration at the beach. Sara Lazaro was there to capture the all-white affair and the party that lasted until the small hours of the morning.
From the bride: “It was the small handmade details that made our wedding so special. We did our video-invitation, webpage and wedding list ourselves, DIYed our guest book with one photo of each guest, and our friends helped us with the accessories for the photobooth. The initials on the cake were also handmade.”
“Instead of traditional wedding favors, we donated money to a NGO to help kids in Kenya, and our favor was a postcard where we told guests about it. We went to Kenya for our honeymoon there and saw first hand how our money was helping those kids; how happy they are with almost nothing.”
Any advice for brides-to-be? “Enjoy every moment because it is unique, forget about pressures and do it on your way. A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, so enjoy every step, every single moment and don’t let anyone to tell you what you want because you already know it.
“We had been looking for a place where we could enjoy our day with our friends. Btakora was perfect to have the ceremony, following reception and dance + party. It was just as relaxed and especial as we had imagined. Maria Perez is a great professional and has been our friend for long time, so having her help us plan the wedding was a no brainer.”
