Do you remember this adorable couple from Ireland and their windy engagement session in Portugal? Well, I am proud to have their beautiful wedding on the blog today, also photographed by Matt and Lena.
For their big day, the sun was shining over the Algarve and Caroline and Colm had just the sunny celebration with the holiday feeling that they had hoped for. Brides-to-be, make sure you read the credits at the end of this post, you will probably find the Etsy vendor list very useful!
From the bride, Caroline: Myself and Colm met 8 years ago during the summer in a small coastal town called Dingle in West Kerry. I was supposed to be on a three week course learning the Irish language but I ended up with leaving with more than I had bargained for.
7 years later he surprised me with a weekend away to a gorgeous hotel and he got down on one knee by the fire in the empty hotel lounge after taking some time to build up the courage. I thought he was joking……then realized by the look on his face that he was serious….and of course said YES!!! Cue the champagne and a few tears by me, I have to admit.
We had to keep the news to ourselves until Colm had a chance to officially ask my Dad the next day….I was ready to burst!
When it came to choosing the Algarve for our wedding it was pretty simple. We both agreed we wanted something a bit different to the typical Irish wedding. I adore the sun and just holidays in general….so we knew we had to go away. We loved the idea of having some time away with our friends and family and the Algarve ticked all the boxes for us as a destination for our wedding. After a trip over to see some venues we both fell in love with Os Agostos and the Vilamoura area and we took it from there…
