We featured the engagement session of this sweet Catalan couple a few months ago and I am proud to have their wedding on Belle & Chic today! There are a couple of things that are special about Marisa and Óscar: They decided to tie the knot after having children and made their little girls part of their day. They are also deeply rooted in local culture and tradition, which was an important influence for the wedding, yet they created something completely new and very much them for the celebration. Thanks to The Visual Partners for capturing these images and sharing them with us!
From the bride: “We wanted to show, celebrate and share our love in front of and with all of those who’ve shared special moments with us over the years. From the beginning on we knew that we wanted our vendors to be from our (geographical) area, or at least to have a special bond with them.”
About the short tulle dress: “Starting point for my dress design was a tutu skirt, layered with different types of tulle and Valencian lace. We then added a pale pink bodice with a heart shaped neckline, and on top of that a layer of dotted tulle, which created a beautiful illusion neckline and sleeves. A birdcage veil and a blue hydrangea (matching the blue Dolce & Gabanna peep toes) made the finishing touches for my look.”
Óscar and Marisa do “Castells” (the Catalan tradition of building human towers), and as an homage to the couple, their teams each created a little tower before the ceremony.
“The place were we got married is not an actual wedding venue (which made the planning and preparations very hard, I’ll admit), but it was close to our home and had everything we were looking for: An old masia with lots of history, rustic charm and surrounded by nature.”
Part of the ceremony was releasing butterflies.
