Liane and Luke are from Ireland and got engaged in South Africa, but when it came to picking a location for their wedding day, they knew it was going to be the Mediterranean: “We wanted to get married in the sun and were always blown away by the Med whenever we visited on holiday. We also wanted to select a destination where our friends and family could come for a relaxing break as well as the wedding. Liane loves the movie Cinema Paradiso and the classical score and so this was a great inspiration.”
They finally settled on Sicily, and when they visited Cefalu they absolutely fell in love with its unique character and rustic atmosphere.
The bride on having a destination wedding: “You need to have a great wedding planner that you can trust and that knows the area well… They work on your behalf to secure the best deals and options with local suppliers and officials. This is especially important in the likely event that you don’t speak the native language. Other than that: Breathe, relax, enjoy the day and all the little moments that make it… it is over in a flash but the memories are special and will last forever.”
