The love story of today’s Swiss couple reminds me a little bit of my own… Sara and Marcos are both from Basil, but met in Spain, where he was studying and she was visiting friends. They had a long distance relationship for almost two years until he returned to Switzerland. Their ties to Spain, however, remained strong and it was clear that they would have two weddings: A civil ceremony and relaxed boat ride with barbecue in Switzerland (you can see it here), and a second ceremony and dinner reception in beautiful Alicante, Spain.
Wonderful film photographer Miguel Varona captured both events, and today we’re showing you their Spanish fête.
From the Bride: “Ceremony and reception were held at Restaurante Torre de Reixes, one of the best and most beautiful restaurants in Alicante. My two best friends and our brothers were at our side to make our day so special and relaxed. We are truly thankful to be surrounded by such wonderful friends and family.”
“Spanish weddings start quite late during summertime so most of the guests had time to enjoy the beach before the ceremony started in the evening. The ceremony was held in Spanish and one friend held a moving speech in German. However, it was a very emotional ceremony and everybody cried, regardless of the language they spoke.”
“My talented husband Marcos himself designed our wedding logo, an ampersand with three little hearts.”
