The Greek isles provide a stunning backdrop for a wedding, no doubt, and Andros, which forms part of the Cyclades, is no exception. Efrosini and George held their nuptials there because “it’s picturesque, the weather is warm but mild in June when we had the wedding, it’s easy to get to, and most people would like it as a holiday destination anyway.”
Bride and groom were overjoyed to tie the knot, you can just see it in their faces, can’t you? Peachey Photography captured this island affair on film… enjoy!
A traditional Greek wedding involves shots and music… and even the groom serenading his bride!
The bride about the location and venue: “Andros is a lovely island, only 2hrs by ferry from Athens, combining impressive nature with beatiful villages. The Aneroussa Beach Hotel has its own stone-built amphitheatre, where we had the ceremony, and is set above a beach, where we held our reception and party. It also has one of the best sunsets you will see in your life! The hotel team is friendly and approachable, and they were keen to cater for our needs and those of our guests.”
“Almost everything was handmade, bespoke or DIY! We customised almost everything we were offered by vendors (from the dress to the food), which is why we hope we made it unique and true to who we really are.”
And Efrosini also has some valuable tips for destination brides-to-be: “Visit early on in order to speak to locals, and find out about catering, dj, photographers, hair and make-up artists at the location. Create a blog or website (like we did) where guests can find out more about the location, schedule of the day, activities organised before/after the wedding. It’s a great way to share information, impressions and photographs with guests before and after. Our only regret: If we were to do it all again, the only thing we’d change is not stress so much but rest more the days prior to the wedding!”
