What happens when a Mallorca wedding planner decides to plan and celebrate her own nuptials on the beautiful Spanish island? Well, it turns into a romantic and detail-filled love fest, of course!
Mandy of Alago Events met her Bryon on Mallorca and it was love at first sight. They have a little boy, Ryder, who at the time was 13 months old. Says Mandy: “I was hoping he would walk me down the aisle with my Dad, but he decided to wait to start walking until 2 weeks later…”.

“Byron had several different plans for proposing while we were on vacation in Mexico. The first was overlooking the sea at the Mayan ruins of Tulum but on arrival, seeing all the skulls and realizing it was a sacrificial temple was a mood killer! Of all his ideas his favourite was to do it while tandem paragliding, although he became quite nervous at the thought of dropping the ring into the sea from such a great height!!
In the end, it happened on our last day in Mexico. We decided to ask one of the staff to take a picture of us on the beach. As we were positioning ourselves for the shot, Byron got down on one knee… We even have a picture that shows the moment, as captured by the hotel staff member!”
“The ceremony was decorated with birdcages and aisle stands that all had hanging crystals garlands I made myself with individual Swarovski crystals.”
“I had done many weddings at Son Termens and every time I did I loved the venue more and more. The setting is stunning, the staff are wonderful and the food is amazing. We even had the owners there as wedding guests.”
“I did the invitations myself as well as all the stationery on the day itself, including personalizad menus. Each table had menus in different tones of teal and green, which were the palette colors of the wedding.”
My advice for destination brides-to-be? Visit the venue at least once, preferable at the same time of year as you wish to have your wedding, and get a wedding planner!
