Save the Dates are a really helpful in organizing any wedding, and especially for destination weddings they are essential. They announce your upcoming wedding way ahead of time so that guests can reserve the date and begin planning their travels.
Save the Dates are usually sent out 6-12 months prior to the wedding. Although the RSVP is saved for the invitation, it is likely that you’ll hear from guests earlier if you’ve sent out a Save the Date, so it also gives you an idea of how many people to expect for your big day.
Since Save the Dates are so important, I thought I’d do a little series presenting different kind of ideas for this pre-inivitation mailing. From whimsical to elegant, this series will cover it all, so stay tuned!
We will start today with a fun idea that will definitely grab your guests’ attention: Save the Dates as printed on balloons. Attached to a card with instructions, all wedding details can be seen once the balloon is inflated. A must-have for an “Up!”-inspired or otherwise balloon-themed wedding!
She ordered the balloons and DIYed the cards…so cute, aren’t they?
These are actually invitations to a baby shower, but I wanted to show them because I love the box packaging. A bit more pricey to send them by mail, but such an eye-catcher!
