My belles, today I have another love story for you that started in Ibiza and led the couple back to the white island for their wedding. Will and Chantelle met in Ibiza and both fell in love with it instantly. They have returned every year since for holidays- often more than once! It was an obvious choice for their nuptials, and they also joked that it was halfway between Chantelle’s native Australia and Will’s family in the UK….
Loving the beach ceremony and the bride’s elegant dress… and of course Gypsy Westwood‘s beautiful photography that turned all the lovely moments into lasting memories.
The bride about the proposal, which also took place on a Balearic island: “It was a TOTAL surprise! We had just completed the 3 Peaks hiking challenge around the UK with friends and were enjoying a few days of recovery in Mallorca before heading to Ibiza with more friends to celebrate our achievement. Will surprised me with a night in the gorgeous El Porche de las Ovejas suite at the Mirabo de Valldemossa but the penny still did not drop. After a relaxed day driving around the island and swimming in the hotel pool we were enjoying a bottle of rose on our terrace while the sun set when he asked me to be his wife. Surprised is an understatement but we were over the moon.”
“I wasn’t too keen on the idea of adult women of different proportions wearing the same style so asked my bridesmaids to find a short white dress that they felt comfortable and also special in. I loved how they all looked different but the flowers and white colour of the dresses linked us all together.”
About finding their vendors: “We found Gypsy first through the White-Ibiza website and really liked her photographic style. We emailed her and asked for recommendations for wedding coordinators. She gave us a list of people and companies who we in turn emailed before meeting up with a few planners on a trip to the Island. We just clicked with Kristiina and loved her friendly, laid back but totally ’on it’ style. She showed us a variety of venue options but we knew Atzaro was the place we wanted to get married the first time we saw it.”
What a lovely dress! From the bride: “Working in the fashion industry I was able to call upon some friends and colleagues to help create my wedding dress. Prior to getting engaged I had never really thought about my wedding or how I wanted to look on the day so spent a few months having fun trying on various styles. Two of my friends then helped design and source the fabric before hand-making the dress for me. It was amazing to wear a dress created especially for me and I couldn’t be happier with the result.”
Wedding photographer: Gypsy Westwood // Wedding Coordinator: Kristiina from Ibiza Pure Events // Venue: Atzaro Beach Restaurant // Flowers: Flowers Ibiza // Catering:Atzaro Beach Restaurant // Invitations & Stationery: We worked with our very clever friends Ben & Becky who are graphic designers. Over a few curry evenings we discussed our ideas and they created our destination wedding themed paper invitation and save the date email. Becky also built a website for us to share wedding details with our guests. They also carried the theme through to the wedding itself by designing our table plan and table names. // Bride’s dress: Bespoke
