Good morning everyone!! It looks as if fall has finally arrived in Barcelona as well, so no better day to dream about summer and preparing a sunny Mediterranean wedding….
Let’s continue our little Save the Date series, shall we? (You can see the first post here.)
What would be more appropriate for a destination wedding than a travel-themed Save The Date? There are really cute ideas out there, I recommend you take a look around Etsy for more inspiration.
Today, I’d like to present you my 5 favorite ideas for travel-themed Save The Dates… some of these can even be easily DIYed.
A classic: The vintage “Greetings from….” postcard. To find original ones for your destination will be tough, but there are great replicas that can be customized with your names, wedding date and information.
If you want to make such a postcard yourself, check out Graphics Fairy for vintage designs in high res.
This cute compass lets your guests find your wedding information by spinning a wheel. Martha Stewart has the printable and instructions for this project.
A faux passport is a very elaborate, fun and original Save The Date, and it’s also a nice keepsake for your guests. If you leave a couple of pages blank, guests can even use it to hold memorabilia such as tickets, coins and snapshots from their stay.
I love the simplicity of this idea – a paper plane Save The Date with air mail stripes… A fun way to give your guests a heads-up that they might have to travel via air to get to the scene of your nuptials. See instructions and clipart here.
Talking of planes, what do you think of a boarding pass as a Save The Date? This couple included a QR code which led their guests to the webpage they’d created for the event. Clever, right?
